He works closely with senior management and equity partners in defining investment strategy, coordinating due diligence, developing business plans, structuring financing, and leading acquisitions through closing. Prior to joining Sunstone, Fernando spent four years at Bridge Investment Group. In this role as an Associate of Investments, he was responsible for the acquisition, asset management and investment strategy of multifamily assets in the southeast region of the United States. He has experience in over $1 billion of multifamily real estate transactions and asset managed a portfolio of 5,000 units. Prior to Bridge, he worked at Goldman Sachs in their Real Estate Research group and specialized in REITs, global brands, and standalone assets.

Mr. Sutton has joined Sunstone as Vice President of Asset Management. Randy previously worked for Bridge Investment Group, where he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions in major markets across the Western United States. During his time at Bridge, Mr. Sutton led the asset management responsibilities for a 5,200+ unit, $840 million value-add multifamily portfolio. Additionally, he managed $605M in acquisitions and $238M of dispositions of value-add multifamily assets. Mr. Sutton will direct all major asset management functions across Sunstone’s portfolio with the objective to maximize investor returns and ensure the execution of each asset’s business plan.

Todd started his career representing a Fortune 100 supermarket chain in shopping center development and later joined the law firm of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison. He previously worked with John Maddux, Sunstone’s CEO, as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MMPI, a real estate development firm in LA. Mr. Nielsen is also a California licensed real estate broker.

The architectural team is currently focused on designing three multifamily projects in Southern California.
